Locksmith in Sunrise Lakes, Sunrise
We work in every phase of Sunrise Lakes — the 55+ condo community off Sunrise Lakes Blvd in Sunrise (ZIP 33322) — for lockouts, rekeys, mailbox locks and easier-to-use locks. Most buildings there date from around 1980 (Florida for Boomers listing), so original locks are common.

What Sunrise Lakes residents call us for
- Lockouts — from $95. If your building office has a key on file, during office hours that may be the free option.
- Lever handles instead of knobs — easier with arthritis or weak grip.
- Rekey after a caregiver, cleaner or contractor had a key — from $95.
- A wall-mounted key safe or a keypad for caregivers and family — so nobody has to hide a key under the mat. Each person can have their own code; key safes are priced on the phone.
- Mailbox locks — from $85, coordinated with your association.
- Sliding doors on the patio that no longer latch.
About Sunrise Lakes
Sunrise Lakes is a large 55+ condominium community split into numbered phases, in ZIP 33322, with addresses along Sunrise Lakes Blvd and W Sunrise Lakes Dr (Redfin; Tomo 55+ list). One Phase One listing gives 1972 as its build year (Florida for Boomers), so some buildings are older still than the 1980 date above. Across the whole city, about 18,000 residents — roughly 18.5% — were 65 or older in the 2020 Census (City Population).
Sunrise Lakes in numbers
One neighborhood guide counts 5,759 homes in Sunrise Lakes, a median build year of 1979, and a members-only 9-hole golf course in Phase IV; most of its subdivisions are run as 55-and-older communities (Homes.com). For a locksmith that means thousands of unit doors on hardware from the late 1970s, plus clubhouse, pool and mailbox locks that belong to the associations rather than to residents.

Working in your building
We follow your phase's rules — gate, office notice or vendor sign-in. If the association needs a copy of your new key, we cut it on the spot. Phase 4's Recreation District rules, for example, have guards verify the identity of professional service personnel, and they don't accept photocopies or phone pictures of a resident ID or guest pass at the clubhouse and pools (Sunrise Lakes Phase 4 rules, Jan 2025). When you call, tell us your phase and building, and whether the office or the guard needs our name ahead of time.
How a typical visit goes
- You or a family member call, describe the door and hear the total.
- A text gives the technician's name; the technician shows ID at your door and checks yours (or your condo papers).
- The work goes at your pace, and you're shown the new key, lever or code before we leave.
Mailbox keys
Lost your mailbox key? Your association or manager authorizes the new lock, and the carrier opens the master door; the Postal Service keeps the master and arrow locks (Budget Mailboxes). We replace only your own compartment lock.
Key safes for caregivers
A home aide who arrives at 7 a.m. shouldn't depend on a key under a planter. We mount a key safe on the wall by the door, or fit a keypad deadbolt, so family and aides get in with a code. Key safes are priced on the phone once you tell us the wall and the door.
For family who live elsewhere
If your parent lives in Sunrise Lakes and you live out of state, you can make the call: describe the door, hear the price and agree to it. Payment happens in the unit after the work is done and tested — card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zelle or cash — and the itemized invoice can be texted or emailed to you as well.
Common questions
Do I need association approval to change my lock?
Check your documents. Associations may require a key to your unit. See condo lock changes.
Can you make a key for my building's common doors?
Only with the association's approval. Common-area keys belong to the association.
My mother has arthritis and can't turn her key. What helps?
A lever handle, a larger key head, or a keypad deadbolt so there's no key at all. We'll talk through the options and prices on the phone.
Locked out? Call — the price comes first.
Same price at any hour. A Sunrise technician comes to you.
