What changes the total
- The lock itself. "Starting at" means a standard residential lock (Kwikset, Schlage, Defiant and similar). Medeco or Mul-T-Lock cylinders, multi-point locks and smart locks cost more — you hear the number before we start.
- Damage. A lock that was forced, rusted by Florida humidity or broken inside needs more work or a new part.
- Parts. A lock change includes a standard lock. If you want a specific brand or finish, the part price is added and shown to you first.
- For car keys: the year, the make and whether it's a push-to-start key. Older transponder keys sit at the bottom of the range; proximity keys near the top.
A sample bill
You just bought a 1980s house in Welleby with a front door, a side door, a garage door to the house and a sliding door lock. You want old keys to stop working.
- Rekey, first lock (trip included): $95
- 3 extra locks × $45
- Total: $230 — which is our whole-house price for 4 standard locks. (Example for illustration, not a real job.)
What you won't see on our bill
- A "$19 service call" that grows on site. Florida consumer offices flag this very trick (Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs).
- A night or weekend fee.
- A charge you didn't approve before the work began.
Why "starting at"?
Because we can't see the lock from the phone. Tell us the brand, the door and what happened, and the number you hear is the number you pay unless the lock turns out different — and then you're asked first.
Is the lowest quote the cheapest locksmith?
Not when the low number only pays for the drive. Ask every company the same question — "all in, what does a job like mine usually come to?" — and compare those answers. Ours: $95–160 for a standard house lock, $85–150 for a car, said before we set off.
Three promises about money
- Say no to the on-site price and you owe nothing. No trip charge, no "diagnostic."
- No damage-free opening, no opening charge. When picking fails and you'd rather keep the lock than drill it, the attempt is on us.
- Cancel free of charge any time before the technician pulls up.
How payment works
At the end, once you've turned the new key or walked through the opened door yourself. Not a deposit, not a trip to an ATM. Cash, Zelle, Google Pay, Apple Pay or a major credit card all work, and a line-by-line invoice follows by text, or by email if you prefer.
