If you're locked out of your car at Sawgrass Mills, first check whether your keys are in the car or lost; if lost, call mall security's lost and found at (954) 846-2322, and if they're locked inside, call a locksmith with your exact lot or garage location. Sawgrass Mills is huge — over 2.4 million square feet with more than 355 stores (Visit Florida) — so the hardest part is often describing where the car is. Step 1 — Keys inside the car, or lost?
- You can see them inside → you need a car lockout. Skip to step 3.
- You don't know where they are → retrace your stores, then step 2.
- Child or pet inside on a hot day → call 911 now.
Step 2 — Lost keys: check lost and found first
Sawgrass Mills' lost and found is in the mall security office; security can be reached at (954) 846-2322 (Simon). Also call the last few stores you visited. If nobody has them, you need a new car key — we can cut and program one in the lot.
Step 3 — Tell us exactly where the car is
Parking at Sawgrass Mills is open lots around the whole mall, plus two garages: one between Super Target and Burlington, and one near The Colonnade Outlets (Simon). Give us:
- The nearest entrance — for example East Entrance (near adidas), West Entrance, The Oasis, or The Colonnade
- Lot or garage, and the garage level and row sign
- A store you can see
- Car color, make and plate Drop a pin from your phone's map and text it to us — that works best.
Step 4 — What to have ready
- Your ID, and the registration or rental agreement (it's fine if it's inside the car)
- The year, make and model
- For a lost key: whether it was a regular key, a flip key or a push-to-start fob
What it costs
- Car lockout: from $85, typically $85–150
- New key, all keys lost: from $160, typically $160–360 (a push-to-start smart key runs as high as about $460) Same price day or night. You hear the total before we drive, and the drive to the mall lots is usually about 20 minutes — we confirm it on the call. Pay only once the car is open or the new key starts it.
Rental car?
Call the rental company first — many have their own roadside service and rules. If they tell you to use a local locksmith, we'll need the rental agreement.
Car left overnight?
If you leave the car at the mall overnight while you wait for a key, tell mall security. Leaving it unannounced may get it towed — ask security what applies.
